Our First Week in Toronto

The best thing about our first week was the arrival of a crib for Sarah!  We had struggled the first couple of nights, but then thought to ask the apartment staff if they had a crib.  Thankfully they did!  So they brought it that day(Wednesday) and it's been great!

The weather hasn't been above freezing here--mostly in the low 20's but has felt less than 10 degrees--brr!  We ventured out on Tuesday to get some things done with Paul before he went to work, but other than a short trip to the grocery store across the street, we didn't go out at all.  That was due to the cold, cold weather that we just aren't used to; the fact that it was also snowing several days; and the kids got sick.  Since we will be here for so many months, we figured we didn't have to rush to see everything and didn't go out and about when it was so cold and snowy, and with kids who weren't feeling the best.  But we did enjoy looking out our big windows.
I love natural light, so having these big windows in each area is great!  The kids and I enjoy looking out and seeing the busy streets down below.
Have you ever seen someone so small and cute this excited to see a taxi?!
We've seen sidewalk snowplows...
...and window washers--while it was snowing no less!

Besides looking outside the windows a lot, we've also spent time playing games together, building LEGO sets--which I don't have pictures of actually--taking funny pictures together, and watching the Olympics.

We've also taken naps this week.  When you aren't feeling the best, naps sure do feel great!
Saturday night Paul ran out to get some pizza from a nearby place.  It's called Pizzaiolo.  It was pretty good, but there's another pizza place close by that we want to check out as well.  All in good time!  But it was nice to have something warm and yummy on a cold, snowy night.
Glenn's pizza slice had a face for us to enjoy too!  Haha!  When we showed the face to Sarah, she wanted to look at all the slices of pizza to see the faces.
Today, Sunday, we didn't make it to church. :(  The kids still weren't feeling the best and we wanted to let them rest.  Thank goodness for Mormon Channel and General Conference talks.

Next week we're supposed to have a couple of days above freezing...maybe we'll go out and do something then.  And by that time we should all be healthy and well again.
