Yellowstone Part 2

The first day at the park was centered around Old Faithful area.  We saw lots of geysers and hot spots with their beautifully-colored bacteria surrounding them.  We mostly viewed the park with Paul's uncle's family and Paul's sister Cheryl.  That's why our pictures only really have them. :D

Our drive into the park to get to Old Faithful took a long time!  We wondered for a long time what it was that people were looking at and causing such slow traffic.  Buffalo.  There were a ton of buffalo right next to the road!  It was pretty neat to see these huge animals up close.  We saw mostly buffalo in the park.  We did see a big buck; and we almost hit a fox.  But other than that we didn't see too many other big animals.  But it was still cool to see what we did see.

 

 

This was our view driving into the park every day.  It was just so beautiful!  Even though part of the park was dead from the fires of years ago, there was still so much growth and beauty!

 Old Faithful

 This little geyser went off right behind us just after Old Faithful went off.  We were a ways from O.F. so it didn't seem as impressive--don't get me wrong--it was really cool!  But to have this geyser go off right in front of us, it was so awesome!

 Glenn loved being with Eden, Camille, Sandy-Mom, Audrey, Lane, Bennett, Davis and Uncle Devin!

 Glenn walked up to the sign and pointed out the "o", "u", and "d".  Then he said, "D. Daddy."  Wow!  What a smart kid!!

We were there long enough to see Old Faithful go off again.  Paul and Glenn were right up front this time and Paul got sequential pictures--kinda cool!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 Once again, lots of lots of buffalo!

The geysers and "hot spots" really were amazing to see.  I remember coming when I was a sophomore in high school--or about there--and I remember the smell of the sulfur.  I didn't remember what exotic colors there were--aqua blue, bright yellow and gold!  It really was so beautiful!
