Uncle Mark's Retirement Ceremony

Uncle Mark retired from the United States Air Force this summer.  

The ceremony was held on July 16 in San Antonio.

 We were fortunate enough to be able to attend the ceremony and the family gathering afterwards.  

The ceremony was a very nice affair and I'm glad we were able to come.  It reminded me of my dad's retirement.  I'm so thankful for all the men and women who serve our country in any branch of the armed forces.  Thank you thank you for your service and protecting our freedoms!

After the ceremony we enjoyed some cake and punch with other guests.  Then the family went to the Officer's Club for a luncheon.  We all got our fill and enjoyed sitting around a big table where we talked and laughed and shared stories.  We took some pictures before we headed in different directions.  Mark's niece and her husband and son are also in San Antonio so they were able to attend.  Mark and Bonnye's daughter Holley, with her family came out from South Carolina.  It was great to see them all again!
