Driggs, Idaho

Paul found out that Glenn Beck would be speaking at a live, free event in Driggs, Idaho.  Since we are Glenn Beck fans, we looked into how we could get there.  Allen was kind enough to let us stay at his house for a few nights, and on Saturday we traveled to Huntsman Springs in Driggs to attend this "Celebrate America" event.
The drive to Driggs was absolutely beautiful!   The Teton mountains are stunning!

John Huntsman Sr. is good friends with Glenn Beck and invited him to speak at the celebration.  Before the big show, they had a small "carnival".
We had planned to get there earlier in the day to make sure we got to see all the little shows and such.  But of course we didn't get there as early as we wanted.  But I am really glad we didn't.  We had plenty of time to see what we wanted in the time that we did have.  Plus it was really hot, so if we had been there longer, it would've been really, really miserable.
We saw a dog show:

We saw a BMX bike show:

And we saw pig races:

They also had bounce houses and Glenn loved the one he got to play in!

And of course you can't go to a carnival without eating something on a stick.  We got corn-on-the-cob dipped in a yummy butter sauce with a cheese similar to parmesan sprinkled on top.  It was really good!  Glenn really likes corn-on-the-cob.  And to top it off we shared a root beer.  Oh, and we also shared a Snickers caramel apple.  It was a great dinner!

We had fun playing with a ball and some new friends before the show started.  We also took the time to take some more family snapshots.

Glenn Beck was a great speaker--so patriotic!  And the fireworks show and video display really was fantastic!  Glenn loved the fireworks and would sit there and say, "Wow!"  It really made it a special and fun time to see him enjoy these fun traditions.

I know it's a little late, but Happy Independence Day!!

P.S.  We took this cute video of Glenn dancing to some music before the pig race.  These are all his own moves--such a stud!

So fun! Driggs is my hometown. We were there last year for the Glenn Beck extravaganza and it was so fun. We were in Idaho Falls this year, but decided not to come up. Anyway, I'm glad you got to see Driggs, it holds a very special place in my heart!!
