Games and White Elephant Party

On Saturday the 27th, we had a scheduled game day at Mom and Dad's.  We didn't get started as early as we all would've liked, but that's how it goes.  We did get in a few games though and that was fun.  Paul, Kirsta and Morian played Dominion in the front room.

Spencer, Sirie, Lena and I played Guillotine and then Blokus.
Maren played Sneaky, Snacky Squirrel and Fantasy Forest with Devin, Mackenzie, and Freya.  I think Glenn and Jasper were playing Transformers.

That evening we headed down to Aunt Carolyn's house in Salt Lake City.  We always have a get-together to celebrate Christmas, December birthdays--especially Grandpa Glenn's--and we always do a White Elephant Gift exchange.  Since we've had kids and they are at the age of liking gifts, we have them do a gift exchange, but they are actual gifts.

Getting ready to open gifts...
Glenn gave to Ian, and got from Devin.
Looks like the kids were pretty happy with their gifts!
Then it was the 'big-kids' turn.  Cousin Harrison's fiancee started it off...
...Kirsta opened a cool telephone receiver that hooks onto a cell phone.  Sadly it was stolen from her and she had to get a new gift.
Grandpa Thibault got our white elephant gift--real potatoes and a microwaveable potato-cooking pouch.  We all laughed when we saw the potatoes!
Uncle Greg got some bathroom air freshener.  It had the funniest name, but I can't remember what it was.  We all had a really good laugh at seeing that.  And oddly, no one stole it from him... :D
Cousin Parker got a Peanuts lunch box...
Sirie got a puzzle...
Cousin Gaby got some beanies
Paul got a really bad Mariachi Christmas CD and some ginger chews...
Mom got more chocolate...
Uncle Stan got some John Tesh CDs...
Dad got some mints and gum...
Aunt Jenny got a clutch that said "Arm Candy"...hahaha
Cousin Tanner's girlfriend Maddie got an Elf on the Shelf...
Uncle Craig got a beautiful Christmas sign...
And Aunt Suzanne got a Wells Fargo paper weight.
These get togethers are always so much fun.  We eat good food, have delicious desserts, and a hilarious time as we open the fun and random gifts.  So great to spend an evening with this side of my family!  Love you all so much!!

The White Elephant gift exchange is always a fun event! I like that the kids are able to exchange gifts as well. Helps them feel more included!
