After spending the morning and afternoon in Provo, we headed north to Clarisse's house to spend Christmas Eve with them and Cheryl. Glenn had fallen asleep in the car so when we brought him into the house he was still kind of sleepy. His cousins, Evelyn and Felicity, wanted to play but he wasn't quite ready. They climbed on him and gave him kisses and got right in his face. He isn't used to that, but he took it well.
Paul helped Clarisse make the traditional "Merry Christmas" pizzas. They turned out really, really yummy--even if you can't read what it says anymore. :D
After dinner, which was a Jensen tradition, we did one of Matt's family's traditions: crackers! His grandma sent them a box of crackers, tubes filled with little toys and things, and wrapped in pretty paper that gets pulled on each end and 'cracks' open. The video is short, but it kind of shows you how they work. Inside each one was a paper crown, a joke or two and a little toy.
We had a fun evening with them and we were glad to participate in family traditions.
I forgot to mention before that we had gotten together with Clarisse and her family, as well as Paul's brother Arik and his new wife Natasha, and Cheryl. Paul convinced her to come up for Christmas and all that! Clarisse sung in her ward the Sunday before Christmas-the 21st-so we went to her ward to see that. Later that evening, we all gathered there to have dinner and visit. We took a picture of all of his family that was there at that time. It's been awhile since that's happened. Too bad Cecilia and her family couldn't come down, or Allen and his family couldn't come. We missed seeing them!
