Friday March 30, we were on our way to Casa Loma, but since it was clear weather, we changed our plans and went to the CN Tower instead. It had been rainy and cloudy the days before, so since it was clear we didn't want to miss our chance of having a good view from the top.
But apparently a lot of other people had that idea because the line to ride the elevator was pretty long. But thankfully it moved along pretty well and there were things to take pictures with along the way.
The view of Lake Ontario
Behind Paul is a building with a large TD on the top. This is where Paul has been working while here in Toronto.
And more views of the city.
Our apartment building can't be seen because it's too short in comparison, but I took this picture to show the buildings around us--the Shangri-La Hotel is the large one on the right, and you can see the tan-colored one that is Canada Life. We can see that very clearly though our north-facing window.
They had little exhibits all around as well that talked about different features of the CN Tower, at the time it was built.
The tower also had a section of glass floor that we each stood on. This stuff makes me nervous because even though I know it's strong enough to hold me, my imagination runs away and I imagine some very bad endings. But I overcame it and stood on it--we all did. Glenn and Sarah lounged around on it even!
The glass floor is right above the aquarium so we can see onto the roof. They had these sharks on the roof--they also have lights around the outline that they turn on at night.
Sarah liked the big stuffed animals that were in the gift shop area and wanted pictures with each one.
We went home after the views and relaxed for the rest of the afternoon. That evening we walked down to Lee Restaurant. Paul had been there with some coworkers and really enjoyed the salad and wanted to take us there so we could try it.
It's a 19-ingredient salad. I can't remember all the ingredients and the website doesn't have it listed either. But it was really delicious! So delicious in fact that after we ordered and ate it and our other food we ordered another one! When they bring it, the server tells what ingredients it has while mixing it together.
It was a delicious place! It was a good end to a good day. We did walk a lot though, so again it was nice to only really do one thing each day.
