Cheryl came to visit! Day 1--Exploring

Paul's sister Cheryl came to visit us here in Toronto at end of March/beginning of April.  The first night we didn't go anywhere or do anything special--just had dinner and hung out.  The next day we all walked with Paul to his work building.  He heard about a little concert that would be happening in the PATH connection under his building.

It was a simple event, but the musicians played beautifully.  Because we've gone to the recitals at the church just about every Friday and talked with the musicians afterwards, Sarah wanted to tell these women, "Good job."  So after we listened to a song or two, we told them good job and thanked them for their music.  They thought Sarah was so cute and thanked us for thanking them.  Even with the throngs of people going past, no one else had thanked them or said good job.

Paul then had to get up to work and we wanted to go exploring along Front Street.  We saw lots of statues and fun/beautiful buildings.

This skinny building is on Glenn's Toronto Scavenger Hunt from the tourism website.
And Paul works on the 26th floor of the building on the left--the one with the TD tower on top.  (The CN tower is in the background.)
Then we came to St. Lawrence Market.  Cheryl had wanted to see this, so in we went.
It wasn't crowded at all, which was nice, so we were able to just peruse and go slow without being in anyone's way.  We stopped at a little bakery place called Old World Goodness and Cheryl bought us some sweets.
She bought a few other food stuffs for us to try later and they were all good.

We then continued on and saw more of historic Toronto, which used to be called York.
This was a funny sign we saw on our way to the City Hall library branch.  We showed Cheryl the big TORONTO letters, the Old City Hall building, and the new City Hall.  Glenn showed her some things inside while Sarah and I participated in the story time.  Then we came home, had lunch, and relaxed until Paul came home.  Then he and Cheryl went to a show that evening.
We're glad Cheryl is here so we can do some fun things in Toronto with her!
