After walking around Avignon, we drove out to Site Pont du Gard (still on May 2nd).
It is the Roman aqueduct of Nimes out in the countryside that is very well preserved.
It was so peaceful being there! Especially in comparison to the busy and hectic cities that we had previously been in--Nice and Cannes. We enjoyed walking up to the aqueduct, around it, and down below it. We were there for several hours and it was the best part of the day!

Then we hiked to the top of the other side. We could see where the water would have run through. It's incredible to think that these things were built hundreds of years ago and without modern machinery and without any kind of cement or adhesive. And yet they were water tight! Those Romans!!!

Every angle here was so picturesque! We took so many pictures and I couldn't decide which ones NOT to share here. Enjoy! We sure did.
This really was the best part on my birthday!

This was probably my favorite site of our trip. Like Kayley said it was so peaceful.
