Branson is sort of like a Las Vegas, but better. :D It has lots of fun things to do there--mini golf, go-carts, water parks, etc. and it has tons of shows! That is what Branson is known for--it's family-friendly shows. We were excited to get to go to several of them throughout the week.
Our first show was on Tuesday August 20th to see the Bretts. They are an LDS family who live in Branson. This was their 15th year there and they had a fun show to celebrate it!
We were enjoying the show when all of a sudden the fire alarm started ringing. We thought it was part of the show at first--so did the performers--but it wasn't. We had to evacuate so they could make sure everything in the theater was fine.
After maybe 10 minutes or so we were able to go back in and enjoy the rest of the show.
The brothers were really funny. The entire family really were show-people and we could tell that they had been doing this for a long time.
They ended with singing "We are family" and I caught just a snippet of it. They said they were so lucky and blessed to be doing this as a family. And that they get to share their talents with all of us, year after year.
After the show we were able to meet and talk with the two brothers and dad. We got a picture with the younger brother and talked with him about his mission--he had recently returned from Columbia! It was fun to get to know the performers.
