Glenn turns 5!

Glenn was super excited to turn 5.  He couldn't wait for his birthday.  All year he would ask us how old he was--down to the fraction.  He loved telling people that he was 4 and 1/2 then 4 and 11/12, etc.  Finally he turned 5!
That morning we had fresh peaches while we played a card game.  That is one of Glenn's favorite things to do--play card games.  He loves War, Crazy 8's, and Skip-Bo.  He has even come up with his own expansion rules for Crazy 8's.
On our way to driving daddy to work, we stopped at Krispy Kreme to finish our breakfast.
Glenn and I had a few errands to run before going to a birthday party for a friend of Glenn's.  Emily's birthday is August 10th, but with that being a Sunday, her mom chose to have the party on Friday.  She was a bit nervous because she knew that was Glenn's birthday, but we told her not to worry because Glenn's party would be on Saturday.  Plus Glenn had wanted a party at a bounce house--and even told people month's before that that's where his party would be.  But we had other plans, actually.  So it worked our perfectly that Emily's party was on Glenn's birthday and at a place called Jumpoline.  It was filled with trampolines all over and a bounce house too.  Glenn was so happy!
Later that afternoon we invited a few friends over to our clubhouse to watch The LEGO Movie in the mini-theater.  It was such a fun movie and the boys had an 'awesome' time.
Seth. Glenn. Caleb. Matthew. (Erin).
Then it was time to pick up daddy.  On our way home we stopped at Glenn's favorite restaurant for dinner: Chick-fil-A of course!
While there we saw another family celebrating a boy's birthday.  When they had walked in I turned to Paul and said that they looked familiar.  After a few minutes, she finally said something to me about how I looked familiar to her.  We figured out how we knew each other--we had met each other last year at a different Chick-fil-A!  Small world!  Their little boy Seth's birthday is next week, but they were celebrating with a friend.  She gave me this little Nano bugs and the boys had such fun letting them roam all over the table and bench.
When we got home, it was time to open presents.
Glenn was showered with many gifts from friends and family.  Thank you to everyone who sent him a present!  He loves each item and is very grateful.  He knows he is so blessed!
Happy Birthday Mr. Glenn!  Mommy and Daddy sure love you a lot!!
