Happy Independence Day!

July 4th weekend, we headed down to San Antonio to spend it with family. 

(Glenn and I have had fun decorating for the holidays here.  We have a large window in our dining area where we like to put window stickers.  Throughout the years we have collected several American flags and we put those up too.)

Our plans for July 4th had been to do some BBQ, go to a baseball game and watch fireworks.  That mostly happened except for the BBQ.  We got down there later than planned, they hadn't bought anything yet, and we didn't feel like BBQing.  So we did the next best thing: we got burgers from Carl's Jr. :D

That also gave the boys more time to play Mario Kart on the Wii.  Since they let Glenn play it one time, he has been so excited to go back and play it more and more.  He has so much fun.

After a late lunch and Mario Kart, we went to watch a local baseball team--the San Antonio Missions.

We had pretty good seats and it was fun.  Recently after we got there--we came a bit late--a foul ball was hit above us, but it bounced down and pegged the leg of the lady sitting next to me, who was also holding a 3-month old baby.  I instinctively reached out and tried to cover the baby.  Amazingly the baby wasn't hurt at all, but the mom probably got a nice bruise on her leg.

The family next to us bought some cotton candy for their son, but he decided he didn't like it.  They asked if we would like it.  Um, sure!  Glenn was really excited because he had wanted some earlier.

After the game, there was a concert from a country singer, Kevin Fowler.  

We hadn't heard his songs before, and probably won't choose to in the future.  They were mostly about drinking and dancing and other lifestyle choices that we don't make.  

So we had fun with the glow jewelry instead.

After the concert, the fireworks show began.  It was pretty cool.
