President's Day

Mark and Bonnye came up from San Antonio to spend President's Day weekend with us.  We were happy to host them--and Frodo!  Sunday night we finished off the oil and cheese fondues, but again were so full that we didn't eat the chocolate.  The next morning we decided that it was time:  so we ate chocolate fondue for breakfast!
It was really yummy--and yes, Bonnye is hiding under her sweater.  She said no pictures can be taken of her in the morning... :D

We all stuffed ourselves with chocolate-covered angel food cake, and chocolate-covered strawberries and chocolate-covered pineapples.  Such a great way to start the day! ;)
Glenn enjoyed having Frodo there too.  He is a fun little furry friend to have around.  They were having fun cuddling under the table while we sat and talked and digested.
Since it turned very cold we didn't go sight-see.  Too bad.  But we did venture out to a yummy burger place called Hop-doddy Burger Bar.  Sorry for the blurry-phone pictures, but that's what we had.  The burgers really were delicious though.
Mark and Bonnye decided to head home after that.  They needed to be home so Bonnye could work.  So even though we didn't get to do Austin things, we did enjoy being together and enjoying the cold weather inside together!  And I won't tell you that Mark, Bonnye and I stayed up 'til 2am talking Sunday night.  That would be irresponsible.  :D  We had a lot of fun with them.
Oh!  And I forgot to mention, we had another visitor that weekend.  While we were eating dinner, we heard this meowing outside our dining room window.  We opened the blinds and saw a cat.  He was so desperately to come in.  We didn't know whose cat it was, but he really wanted to be with us.  Once he saw us notice him, he even came to our front door and meowed, and then to out patio door.  Poor little guy!  He was there all day Monday too.  Since it had turned really cold--remember how Saturday had been so warm we got sunburned and how Monday was like 40 degrees?  I felt so sorry for this kitty, that we eventually brought him inside.  Glenn is really allergic to cats, so we took him into our bathroom and kept him in there.  We gave him something to eat and drink--all I had was tuna!  But he gobbled it up fast.  He was such a sweet, soft kitty.  I sometimes wish Glenn wasn't allergic so maybe we could get one...or I guess we could just enjoy others' cats...and the random ones that come calling every once in awhile!
We took pictures and put up a sign around the complex...and Tuesday we didn't see him.  So we are hoping that he is being taken care of now.  It sure made it a fun weekend with him around.
