Paul finally returned from Spain on Friday November 22nd in the evening. We had already made plans to get together with his sister's family in Salt Lake and two friends down in Utah County on Saturday, and then have my extended family come up to Layton on Sunday. We had to pack it all in one weekend because we were heading out to California for Thanksgiving on Tuesday. Paul wanted to see and visit with family and friends before we headed out and so this was our only time.
Saturday morning we had breakfast with Clarisse, Matt, Evelyn, Felicity, and Arik. We had a fun morning with all of them and it was good to see them again.
Then we headed to American Fork to have lunch with Paul's friend from college--Ben Griggs and his family. It's been a long time since we've seen them and it was sure fun to catch up. We ate at J-Dawgs--which has since expanded from the little red shack at the south end of BYU campus to Orem and American Fork. Paul and I had our third date at J-Dawgs and that was my first time meeting Ben. So it was the perfect place to meet up with them. Later that day we met up with Kyle, Emmeline and Lorenzo. Glenn and Lorenzo got to play and have fun with Lorenzo's grandparents while the rest of us adults went to see Ender's Game. We then hung out until late. We sure love that family and wish we could've spent more time with them. But we still needed to head back up to Layton and Paul was still on Spain time--so he was super tired. But we had a great time with family and friends.
After church on Sunday, we had my extended family over. It was good to be with all of them once more as well. We ate good food, played some games, and talked and talked and talked.
We were sad to have to say good-bye, but glad we had the opportunity to see them again.
