An Afternoon with Chalk

On Monday September 9, we got a visit from Paul's dad while he was on his way up to Idaho.  We had a short visit, but it was pleasant.

We then had the rest of the afternoon to play in the beautiful weather.  Grandma Esther has a big ol' bucket of chalk and a big driveway that was looking pretty bare.  We decided it was up to us to decorate it. :D
Glenn's long-stemmed flower
I traced the basketball hoop shadow when we first went out there.  It was fun to see how the shadows changed through the afternoon...
Glenn wanted me to help him draw a picture that showed a tornado and a hurricane...
...and a rocket.
Seen the new Winnie the Pooh movie?  The 'scary' creature in that is called the Backson.  Glenn wanted to draw a mom, dad and son Backson.  So if you were wondering what they look like, this is it. :D
The Backson's live in the forest...so Glenn drew their home.
The shadow once again...
And Glenn's version of the rocket.  Cute!
And I love that he wrote that "Glenn love Mommy".  I sure love my little guy!
His hands and pants after all that drawing...it took a few washings to get all the chalk out of his pants!  But we sure had fun and sometimes it doesn't even matter about the mess!
