Labor Day Picnic

On Monday September 2nd, we had a family get together with my Dad's side of the family .  We were glad to celebrate Labor Day together--those of us that could gather.  Paul was glad that he didn't fly to Spain until the next day, so he could come to this get together.  (He had missed all the gatherings when I was here before and he was in Texas.)
We gathered at Evergreen Park in Salt Lake City.  We used to go there when we were kids and it was fun to go there again, now with our kids.  It did change, but they did keep some of the same elements that we loved about it so much--two words--pumpkin carriage!
We love to take pictures of family as we are eating and talking and playing.

More games and talking
Even though Grandpa Thibault isn't from that side of the family, we brought him along.  We LOVE any excuse to bring him to anything!  We Love him so much!

Glenn playing with Devin and Kenzie.
We then decided to play some kick ball--boys vs. girls.  Not the most fair, but we had fun, nonetheless.  We then let the little boys kick and run around the bases.  They thought it was great!
We had quite a fun time playing some more childhood games--Four Square!
And of course we needed to take pictures of all of us at the pumpkin carriage.

The next day Glenn got a package in the mail.  Remember a few months back he got a package and it was Sunnye who had taken an extra vacation in Europe?  Well during the months that Glenn and I were in Utah before getting the house cleaned up, he lost Sunnye.  I know it sounds like a lot, but he never loses him!  It just happened to happen twice in a matter of months.  Glenn had been so good about it, saying that Sunnye had died and gone to be with Grandma Thibault in heaven.  But I knew that Glenn missed his little doggie so much.  I found another Sunnye online and bought him to surprise Glenn.
Sunnye has a new rule--he can't leave the house, unless it's to the car, and if it's the car, then he can't leave the car.  We don't want to risk losing him again.  Glenn was so happy to get his best friend again!

That was a fun day! I'm glad our kids got to experience Evergreen Park, like we used to all the time when we were young!
