BYU Homecoming Parade

Saturday October 12, BYU had it's annual Homecoming Parade.

Mom, Dad, Glenn and I went down to Provo to meet up with Kirsta, Morian, Devin, Kenzie and Grandpa Thibault.  And of course, we were excited to support Sirie who would be in the parade!

The morning started out pretty chilly, so we were all bundled up.  We did get to enjoy some warm blue pancakes before the parade got to where we were sitting.

 When I put the syrup on my pancakes, I realized it looked like South America-haha!

 We like to sit at the end of the ramp, so at the corner of 8th North and 2nd East.  It's almost the end of the parade route, so it takes awhile for the parade to actually get to us, but that's okay.  They finally came and we enjoyed seeing it. The kids liked being in front where they could see better and where they could get the candy that was thrown to the crowd.

The BYU Marching Band--my sister Maren was a part of it when she went to BYU.

 Air Force ROTC--my Dad was in the AF for 20 years!

 Both of my brothers-in-law have worked for Wells Fargo Bank.

 We loved attending many, many athletic events at BYU.

 We thought this float of Captain Moroni was pretty neat.

 And here's Sirie and the other Folk Dance team!

 Paul was a member of the ASCE--American Society of Civil Engineers.

 Kirsta, Morian and their kids could have walked in the parade with the other members of the MBA program, but they decided they'd rather sit and watch instead of walk the route.

 We've all lived in Provo.

 And this group encouraged kids to come do Ring Around the Roses with them.  Glenn was the only one brave enough from our group, so he went out there.

 And we thought it was an interesting one--not sure what they were trying to say with a huge Brigham Young head, but whatever.  Go BYU!

 After the parade we met up with Sirie and then walked and played around that end of campus.

 They put a new sign at the top of the hill, so we took our picture there.

 Too bad Maren wasn't with us--all four of us girls have gone to BYU.  My parents did too!

 I love the view of Mt. Timpanogos from campus!  Such a beautiful mountain!

 And I really love this path at the end of the hill.  It is so pretty and after the parade we walked around and enjoyed it.  Morian and the kids were playing hide and seek.

 We didn't stay down for the football game, but instead watched it from the comfort of my parents' home and on their big TV.  (And I don't even remember if we won or lost!)  

Oh well, Go BYU!!
