The first weekend in October is General Conference.
We traveled down to San Antonio to spend the weekend with Mark and Bonnye.
Paul and I had gone to the temple Friday night before it closed for the month to be deep-cleaned. The next morning we got breakfast tacos from Bill Miller's. Then we started Conference.
How do you watch Conference? This is how Glenn watches it. :D
We enjoyed both sessions there. Mark's niece and her husband also recently moved to the area, so they came over before the second session. We made different kinds of pizza for dinner and ate while we watched. We had a good time playing some games after too.
We also watched the Priesthood session there too--that's a new thing this time--that the Priesthood session was broadcast to the homes.
We anticipated staying the night again and watching the two sessions on Sunday. But Glenn was having a hard time with the pets. He loves Frodo the dog and Tigger the cat, but he is allergic. We brought some medicine and such, but he wasn't able to breathe well. We debated what to do--to stay or go--and we decided that we would head home. Plus Bonnye needed to work a late shift as an on-call phone nurse, needing to work in the room where we would be sleeping. We decided that it would better for Glenn--his breathing--and for Bonnye--her work--if we went home. So we said good-bye and headed home late Saturday night.
We then enjoyed watching conference at our home all day Sunday.
