South Carolina Here We Come!

The day after the party--the 10th--we went to church and then started on a family vacation to South Carolina.  Paul's youngest brother, Arik, was getting married at the end of the week and we planned on taking a family vacation out there.
We were excited to go through some new states and cross them off our list of states that we've been to.  Our first state was Louisana.

We went through Shreveport and thought of my dad.  He goes there often for work.
We also went through some pretty incredible thunderstorms while driving.  There were times the rain was so bad that we were almost stopped on the highway!
That night we stayed in Jackson, Mississippi.  We passed by the Capitol Building that evening before going to the hotel.
Isn't this a beautiful stretch of freeway?  We loved the drive and all the trees!
Welcome to Alabama!
And Georgia!!
We drove through Atlanta--saw the Capitol Building and the Olympic Torch.
Finally we made it to South Carolina, but we still had some time to go before we arrived at Holley's house--Paul's cousin.  We stayed with her family for the time that we were there.
We enjoyed a beautiful moon rise on our last stretch before arriving around 9 or 10pm.  It took us about two days to drive there.  Despite the long hours, we enjoyed our drive, not only by looking around and seeing the beautiful scenery, but we also listened to books on CD.  What a great way to pass the many hours in the car!  We listened to Peter Pan, Mr. Popper's Penguins, and A Wrinkle in Time.
